Fine as a treat

Can dogs eat basil, parsley, mint, rosemary, cilantro and thyme?

Common culinary herbs are safe in the small quantities a dog would ever eat. Concentrated essential oils are a different matter.

Why

Fresh or dried leaf herbs are not a concern. Essential oils are hundreds of times more concentrated and can be toxic, particularly tea tree and pennyroyal. Spring parsley — a different plant from curly parsley — is phototoxic and should be avoided.

How to prepare it

Fresh or dried leaf, chopped, in a pinch.
