Can dogs eat shop-bought mushrooms?
Plain shop-bought mushrooms are not toxic, but they are usually cooked with butter, onion or garlic. Wild mushrooms are a completely different and urgent problem.
Why
Cultivated species sold for human consumption are safe in themselves. The risk is entirely in the preparation, and in owners generalising from 'mushrooms are fine' to the ones growing in the garden.
How to prepare it
Plain, cooked, no oil, butter, onion or garlic.
