Can dogs eat plain popcorn?
Plain air-popped popcorn is safe. Butter, salt and toffee coatings are not, and unpopped kernels are a choking and tooth-fracture risk.
How to prepare it
Air-popped, completely plain, fully popped kernels only.
Never in this form
Buttered, salted, sweetened or microwave popcorn; unpopped kernels.
Portion
Plain popcorn is about 387 kcal per 100 g, but a piece weighs very little, so a few pieces are negligible.
Also check for
- butter
- salt
- toffee or caramel coating
- unpopped kernels
